The Millennium Link: the transformation wrought by the regeneration and return to navigation of the Forth and Clyde and Union canals is well demonstrated in the photographs taken by Eric Watt.
Forth and Clyde and Union Canal folders show the condition into which they had fallen by the 1890s.
Eric Watt was there to mark the submission of the bid in 1995, then to observe the civil engineering work needed to reconnect severed waterways. Then he couldn’t miss the various reopening events along the route in 2001, nor the construction of the Falkirk Wheel.
